Ayurveda

At the Ananda Spa, an Ayurveda Clinic in the Himalayas

What if you had the power of the sun?

What would your life looked like if you had fantastic energy? Radiance like a star? Love as infinite as the ocean? Perfect health? Perfect skin? Perfect memory? Freedom from pain? Brilliance of mind?

This is the promise of Ayurveda : Pure wellness that draws out what Eknath Easwaran called “the splendour of the personality that expresses itself in love, courage, creativity, and a melting tenderness that draws all hearts.”

Ayurveda: The Science of Life

Ayurveda is a nature-based approach to healing that recognizes the unique difference of every individual. Because every one of us is unique, every illness, then, must be unique. Since, therefore, no two diseases are alike, in Ayurveda we seek to treat not just a disease, nor just the symptoms of a disease, but the whole person, dissolving the underlying causes of illness or suffering to re-establish the fundamental state of well-being.

Ayurvedic Herbs

Essentially, we “practice” Ayurveda by educating.  We help people understand their own unique nature and teach them the best foods, spices, herbs, exercises, lifestyle practices, even thoughts, behaviors and relationships for their constitution.  This education-based approach is highly empowering as it points to the healer within and engages the patient in the healing process.  Any success then becomes a memory and a reference that affirms. It creates a new groove along which more healing can occur.  Each success builds self-esteem and the capacity for growth. Ultimately there is no end to this elegant, natural and synergistic method of healing.  It continues to unfold inner potential, inner intelligence and inner power that nourishes and encourages us to greater and greater self-expression.

    • You are kidding! How amazing to hear from you. I just wrote to Lynn Bell yesterday – out of the blue! I was thinking of her while updating my website page on Vedic Astrology. Do you remember Lynn? You took me to my first session with her… what synchronicities.
